The AL East is now home to a former Met, Amed Rosario.

Hitting free agency after a stint with the Mets from 2017-2020, Rosario has reportedly signed a one-year deal worth $1.5 million with the Tampa Bay Rays.

According to the AP, Rosario has the potential to earn an extra $500,000 through incentives.

Rosario is capable of playing multiple positions, such as shortstop, second base, and in the outfield.

The 28-year-old had a stint with the Cleveland Guardians and the Los Angeles Dodgers in the last season, maintaining a .263 batting average with six home runs and 58 RBIs over 142 games.

Rosario’s addition enhances Tampa Bay’s infield depth, supporting shortstop José Caballero, whom they acquired in a trade with the Seattle Mariners in January, and second baseman Brandon Lowe.

A career .272 hitter with 60 home runs and 334 RBIs over 839 games, Rosario commenced his professional journey with the Mets in 2017.

His most prolific season was 2019 with the Mets, where he achieved personal bests with a .287 batting average, 15 home runs, and 72 RBIs.

Rosario was involved in a trade to Cleveland in January 2021 as part of a multi-player deal for Francisco Lindor and Carlos Carrasco.

In 2022, Rosario topped the majors with nine triples while playing for Cleveland.
