Authorities in Milwaukee have filed charges against Maxwell Anderson, 33, for the murder of Sade Robinson, a 19-year-old Black woman whose disappearance led to the discovery of a dismembered leg in Warnimont Park. Through DNA analysis, the family is now closer to unraveling the dark events of a failed date.

Anderson is charged with first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, and arson.

Robinson was reported missing on April 1st after being last seen with Anderson, according to authorities. The situation escalated when her burnt car was located, along with her possessions. Court records suggest that soon after, Robinson’s leg was found, which was key to a breakthrough using DNA tests.

The case took a swift turn when surveillance footage captured her final moments at a restaurant with Anderson just before her disappearance. Officials mention that Life360 app data helped in tracking the movements of Robinson and Anderson.

CBS58 reported the following regarding the phone signals of Robinson and Anderson on the night of April 1st:

  • According to the complaint, Robinson’s phone was traced to the vicinity of Warnimont Park between 2 and 3 a.m.
  • On April 2nd, after 7:30 a.m., officials found Robinson’s burnt 2020 Honda Civic near 29th and Lisbon.
  • Surveillance footage displayed Anderson departing the scene and boarding a Milwaukee County transit bus around 8 a.m., heading south towards his residence.
  • Later that day, approximately at 5:30 p.m., a severed leg was discovered in Warnimont Park by the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office.

As the Search for Sade Robinson’s Remains Continues, Parallels are Drawn with the Tragic Case of Lauren Smith-Fields

The family of Robinson took matters into their own hands and filled the void in the investigative process. On April 13th, friends and relatives gathered in Warnimont Park to continue the search for Robinson’s remains, aiming to lay her to rest. As expressed by Sade’s cousin, Keyiana, to TMJ4, she expressed the wish for more support from law enforcement.

“It’s disheartening because it seems like we’re not getting the assistance we need right now,” Keyiana remarked.

Despite these findings, the remaining parts of Robinson’s body have yet to be located. Authorities and volunteers are conducting search operations across Milwaukee, concentrating on various areas identified through her phone signals, including Pleasant Valley Park and Kern Park.

A search conducted at Anderson’s residence revealed evidence of blood and materials consistent with an attempt to dispose of a body.

Individuals who were acquainted with Robinson shared fond memories of her vibrant and joyful personality. The community mourns the untimely demise of this teen.

“She was beautiful, her smile could light up anyone’s day, and her character could bring joy to anyone,” recounted Josh S., a close friend of Robinson, to TMJ4.

This narrative has stirred up emotions within communities, with social media serving as a platform for discussions on dating safety and the pursuit of justice for Robinson.

While the investigation unfolds, both the local and online community in Wisconsin will continue to demand justice for #SadeRobinson by remembering her. Over a thousand individuals have already contributed to the GoFundMe campaign to support Robinson’s funeral expenses.

Anderson is currently in custody with a $5 million bond.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Sade Robinson as they embark on their pursuit of justice.
