Back in 2016, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie surprised the public with their split. The aftermath led to a tumultuous legal battle as they sorted through their intertwined lives. Nearly a decade later, the conclusion of their divorce settlement remains elusive. Sources in the know indicate that while progress has been made and their children are involved, there are still unresolved issues, and to the astonishment of many, the divorce is “still in progress.”

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie during happier times

Following 8 years, Jolie and Pitt’s divorce saga persists

The widely-covered divorce of the former pair known as Brangelina appears to be a long way from reaching a conclusion despite a painful divide within the family. “Both parties are in ongoing discussions,” disclosed a source familiar with the situation to People on May 10, emphasizing that the couple is slowly edging towards finalizing their divorce agreements, “but the process is not yet completed.” Jolie initiated the divorce proceedings back in 2016, and it continues to be prolonged. The couple shares six children, among them Maddox, 22, Zahara, 19, Pax, 20, Shiloh, 18, as well as twins Knox and Vivienne, 15. Nonetheless, four of them have already omitted Pitt from their surnames, indicating their alliance with Jolie in this legal dispute.

Brangelina’s split intensifies in acrimony

Despite officially being declared single in 2019, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s separation is still far from being fully resolved. Their divorce remains unsettled after eight years, entangled in complexities. Lingering disagreements over custody likely hindered complete resolution, and the influential 2012 incident on a private jet where Jolie accused Pitt of assault in front of their children continues to cast a shadow over their circumstances. Moreover, the strife over Château Miraval, the French vineyard they co-owned and exchanged vows at, is escalating with each legal battle. A recent source disclosed that Pitt, now 60, has minimal interaction with their grown-up children, although a visitation arrangement grants him access to the younger ones.

“His communication with the adult children is practically nonexistent. His involvement with the younger children has been more limited in recent months due to his filming commitments,” as per the source’s statement to the people.

Previously, the renowned actor’s daughter Shiloh initiated the process for changing her last name upon turning 18, causing sources to reveal that the actor was ‘upset’ by this decision. “He’s cognizant and disheartened by Shiloh’s abandonment of his surname,” stated the insider, “but he remains content with Ines [de Ramon].” Another source indicated that the accomplished racer, who recently made his relationship with Ines public at the Grand Prix, is eagerly looking forward to settling down anew and starting a family.
